The experience and functionality are very similar between platforms which make it easy for me to switch between them and still be productive. My biggest problem with the Outlook on iOS though is that its completely isolated from the rest of iOS. I understand there are some limitations with this, and maybe some more so on the SDK side of things rather than Microsofts, but its a bit frustrating that when I try to make a call directly from Phone, I dont have the option to search through my outlook contacts. Or that when I see an email address on a website that Im not presented with an option to write that email within the Outlook App. I would love to be able to see my calendar events from outlook in the calendar app, just as a kind of unifying calendar app. I know that I can setup my Office 365 account within the accounts pane in settings, but then Im defeating the purpose of using outlook. Why is this Why does Outlook have to refresh all of your mail locally almost every time you open it There will even be a numerical badge indicating unread messages, but when you open Outlook, you will be notified that Outlook has found accounts on your system (accounts that you have, of course, already added to Outlook) and you will be prompted to add these accounts again. The standard Apple iOS Mail app actually seems to manage Microsofts own mail accounts better than Microsofts email app. How can this be Is Apple doing sometime here to hobble non-Apple email apps (as they do with non-Apple mobile browsers) or has Microsoft not been able to figure out how to develop native iOS applications Im inclined to think its the latter, because other non-Apple email apps do seem to be able to retain email account continuity. Typically I dont keep apps that I absolutely hate, but since I have no alternative to using this horrible thing, I havent removed it. This pathetic thing has caused problems for me professionally. It takes less time for me to boot up the computer and check my calendar and then it does for me to even make my calendar showing this out. Hoping out an email literally takes as long as it would to write a letter and put it in the mail. I cant even open my calendar to understand what kind of meetings I have for the day because this app loads every single calendar I have shared to me and freezes every time I click a button. This is horrible. Dont know why Microsoft insists upon upgrading things to be absolutely terrible. Even more I cant understand why the entire professional world forces everyone to use Outlook. Gross. Even worse, its been out for a year already and youve done nothing to fix it, its gotten worse if anything.
